Dr. Shear is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist (high-risk pregnancies), with a special interest in cardiac and hematologic diseases in pregnancies. She is also skilled in prenatal Ultrasound with a special interest in Fetal growth restriction and multiple gestations.
She completed her Residency training at McGill University, and then did sub-specialty MFM training at Ste Justine Hospital in Montreal.
Dr. Shear is an experienced Obstetrician, working at the JGH since 2000. She is now the Director of Obstetrics at the JGH and the Obstetrical Ultrasound unit. She is a compassionate, caring physician, who is very available to her patients and dedicated to optimizing their pregnancy outcomes.
